Housing

Disability and discrimination issues in the United States are covered by the Fair Housing Act, including issues such as reasonable accommodations in apartment complexes. Information can be found, and complaints can be filed with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

HUD's mission is to "increase home ownership, support community development, and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination."

HUD is the organization that can advise those with Fair Housing Act discrimination issues.

HUD also provides information on anti-discrimination law; on buying, selling, and renting low-income homes; and on the provision of aid to individuals who are homeless.

HUD has offices in every state, and has much information to be found on the web, at: www.hud.gov
